How do I choose the ideal packaging?

‘How do I choose the ideal packaging’ or ‘which is the right packaging for me?’

At TotalWinePack we are experts in protective packaging for shipping bottles of wine. As such, we have developed four packaging models which, although they look alike at first glance, have important features and differences that make each packaging perfect for each type of use.

The purpose of our packaging is to protect the bottles and ensure that they remain intact during shipment. However, some packaging is designed to be able to deal with greater handling demands, whereas other models are specially devised to save time during assembly.

The safety of all of our packaging is based on air cushions formed by folding corrugated cardboard, enabling the bottles to be suspended and secure inside the boxes during transport.

PREMIUM: the most resistant – double protection – 3-mm-thick cardboard – thickness of outer box 8mm – manual assembly – for high levels of handling – inland or international shipment – two protective tabs, twice as high and thick to increase the robustness and volume of the air chamber. This is our best-selling packaging with a very low number of breakages. This is the first choice for most of our customers.

DUO: the fastest – for intermediate/high levels of handling – crash-lock base – inland or international shipments. This is the quickest and easiest to assemble. Like all of our packaging, it has an insert and outer part (the box). However, unlike the other packaging, with DUO you only need to apply pressure to the outer edges of the insert and it is ready to go within seconds. Assembly time is reduced by up to 50%. This is the first choice for our customers with a high turnover or who are pushed for time. Due to its structural design, DUO packaging only has a single protective flap and tab at the top and bottom of the box.

STANDARD: the most economical – for intermediate levels of handling – thickness of insert 3mm – thickness of outer box 8mm – ideal for inland shipments – manual assembly. This packaging has been devised to offer our customers a more economical option. The protective tabs at the top and bottom of the box are only half as high as those on our Premium packaging. This means that the protective chamber is smaller and less resistant than in our Premium packaging.

OPTIMUS: the most practical – for an intermediate level of handling with very similar features to our Premium packaging – manual assembly of two parallel inserts – inland or international shipments. The advantage of this packaging is that two inserts are assembled in parallel, reducing the number of units that need to be assembled when sending six or twelve bottles. Ideal for logistics warehouses and customers who don’t want to have to deal with a lot of parts.
